Tom Roach was born in New Waterford, Nova Scotia. After graduating from Berklee College of Music, in Boston, he moved to Halifax. Since that time Tom has established himself as a sought-after player, both for recording and live performance situations. His credits include many regional and national radio and television broadcasts and numerous recordings as a session player. He has performed with a wide variety of groups encompassing symphonic, latin/ salsa, jazz, celtic and commercial styles. Tom has also toured extensively throughout North America and Europe, most significantly with Celtic fiddler Natalie MacMaster. In the fall of 2001 Tom became a member of the Stadacona Band of the Maritime Forces Atlantic. Apart from his professional performances, Tom has also been active as a teacher, adjudicator and clinician.
