Colleen Richardson, Assistant Professor of Music Performance Studies and
Music Education, directs the wind ensemble, teaches music education classes,
and works with graduate conducting students at the University of Western
Ontario. Dr. Richardson received her BMus (Music Education) from Brandon
University, a wind conducting diploma and MMus in conducting from the University
of Calgary, and a DMA in wind conducting from the University of Cincinnati
College-Conservatory of Music. Prior to her doctoral studies, Dr. Richardson
taught instrumental music in the Canadian public school system for 14 years.
In addition to her teaching responsibilities, she chaired the Optimist International
Band Festival in Winnipeg for seven years; directed one of the University
of Manitoba jazz bands; conducted the Long and McQuade All Star Wind Ensemble;
and guest conducted regional bands. |
