Scotia Funk and Scotia Fusion

The members of these combos range in age from 15 to 19. Performing custom arrangements of tunes by giants like Weather Report, Yellow Jackets, and of course Tower of Power, they bring down the house wherever they play. Energy and great solo playing showcase the abilities that each member brings to the group. After their appearance at Atlantic Band Festival last year, Scotia Fusion went on to play at Musicfest Canada where they also placed Gold, and won Most Outstanding Combo and Most Outstanding Percussionist. These two groups were featured at the Atlantic Jazz Festival in the Student Showcase at the Main Tent, and went on to perform at Halifax Natal Day. The group is led by Rick Waychesko, a former member of Tower of Power
