Ryan Billington earned his Master of Music degree in Voice Performance
and Jazz from Western Michigan University (WMU). He has held teaching
positions at WMU, University of Toronto and now at St Francis Xavier University.
Ryan has studied with Phil Mattson at the School for Music Vocations in
Creston, Iowa. At WMU he sang with the award winning and internationally
touring ensemble Gold Company, performed with Iowa Voices, and studied
voice with Sunny Wilkinson and Diana Spradling. He has performed with
artists such as Richie Cole, Darmon Meader, and Don Shelton. He has also
worked on staff at the Phil Mattson Vocal Jazz Workshop. He currently
is Assistant Professor at St. Francis Xavier University where he teaches,
as well as conducts the St. FX vocal jazz ensemble, and the St. FX University
Concert Choir.
